Stephen Chen MD

My goal is to provide patients with knowledge and insight into their medical problems, and to work together to create a treatment plan that fits their needs. I enjoy developing a strong patient-provider relationship through trust, respect, and compassion.

Dr. Chen completed his undergraduate degree magna cum laude in biology and economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine with research honors.
 
Dr. Chen completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and also completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California-Irvine Medical Center. In 2001, he won the American Cancer Society Award for research in colon cancer screening. Dr. Chen has special interest in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumors, and the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and liver diseases. Dr Chen is board certified in internal medicine and became board certified in gastroenterology in October of 2007.

In his free time, Dr. Chen enjoys golf, fishing, hiking, and spending time with his wife, son and daughter.
