The award is given annually to an individual who has served at least 15 years as a member of the Professional Staff of Providence Portland Medical Center and who demonstrates a commitment to the goals and mission of the hospital and Professional Staff, which exceeds that of the average practitioner.

Dr. Douglas Dawley participated in a clinical trial which compared Prasugrel to Clopidogrel in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome. The study was recently published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
